Ikutama Toma: When he was in junior high and high school, Yamashita often said “I don’t want to go to school”, so when I heard that he was proceeding to university, I went “Ah, is that so!” and was rather surprised. When it was confirmed that he had to be retained, I sent him a mail “Congratulations on getting retained” which encompassed the meaning of “This time, do your best” (laughs). I didn’t go to university so I can’t say wonderful things, but I think it’s great that he’s working so hard. Yamashita works hard in everything he does and does not leave anything unfinished.
